HPIB has a maximum of twenty four teams in leagues playing on Friday evenings (6:00pm & 8:00pm) and Saturday mornings (9:15am & 11:15am). Teams of four, each player with two bowls, compete on three separate long mats in the sports hall at the Chapel Leisure Centre, Chapel-en-le-Frith.

The playing surface is protected by the use of indoor shoes. Players use their own bowls or the narrow biassed size 3H provided in-house. At the end of play on Saturday each mat is rolled onto a core, mounted on trolleys and moved to the equipment store. |
