The Trafford Evening Bowling League was founded in 1981 by Jean Everall and Beryl Kirby. The original 1st Division Championship Trophy was donated by Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council, hence the name of the league. Since its humble beginning it has now grown to three divisions, currently consisting of 36 teams. Matches are played on Thursday evening and teams are to consist of 10 players (men and women), there must be a minimum of one lady and one gentleman in each team. We stage three individual competitions each season which are:

Season 2025 - Annual Presentation NightThe presentation night for the 2025 season will be on Friday 23rd January 2026 at 7.30 pm at the Railway (ex-LMRCA) Club in Stretford. Players must be registered members of the Trafford Evening Bowling League Every player is off 3 and games are 21 up. All entries to: stevenridley@btinternet.com Entry fee is £4. Alan Wilkinson Memorial Award of Merit 2026The Alan Wilkinson Memorial Award of Merit will take place at Lloyds on Sunday 6th September 2026, strike out at 11:00 am. Qualification for Entry: - The player who finishes top of each team’s averages at the end of season. If the player who finishes top of the averages is not available to play, then that team can nominate another player to represent them.

Jean Everall Memorial League Merit 2025 - ResultThe Jean Everall Memorial League Merit was held at Urmston Sports Club on Saturday 14th June 2025. There was some excellent bowling throughout the competition with Rob Cummings and Steven Ridley reaching the final. In a closely fought contest, Rob ended up the victor by a score of 21-18. Thanks go to Urmston Sports for hosting. In addition thanks go to Steven Ridley, Angela Wolfenden, Charlotte Hough and Amanda Ridley for organising, and everyone else for helping to make the event a success. Beryl Kirby Memorial League Handicap 2025 - ResultThis competition was held on Saturday 5th July 2025 at Flixton Ex-Servicemen's Club. After a great day's bowling Michael Metcalfe lifted the trophy, beating Steve Scrimgeour in the final 21-12. The finalist are pictured below with Charlotte Hough, the League President. | |

Doris Armson Memorial Pairs 2025 - ResultThe Doris Armson Memorial Pairs Competition was held at Old Trafford on Sunday 3rd August 2025. After some excellent bowling in bad and good weather, the winners were Amanda Edwards and Andy McGuigan (Altrincham Borough). They beat Alex Mitchell (The Albert) and Graham Turner (SWMCC A) 21-15 in the final. The winners are pictured below. Thanks go to everybody who helped with the running of the competition and Old Traffod for hosting.

Alan Wilkinson Memorial Award of Merit 2025 - ResultThe Alan Wilkinson Award of Merit was held at SWMCC on Sunday 7th September 2025. There were 26 entrants who competed in rain that as very heavy for some time. Despite the rain, the bowling was excellent throughout. Graham Law of Lloyds played Tony Hopkins of Linden in the final, Graham winning 21-18. Graham is pictured below with the president, Charlotte Hough. | |
